කලාපයේ වඩාත් තරගකාරී සහ වඩාත් කාර්යක්‍ෂම වරායයක් ලෙස කටයුතු කිරීමට යන ගමනේ දී වරාය ක්‍ෂේත‍්‍රයේ තිරසාර අනාගතයක් ස්ථාපිත කිරීම සඳහා වූ ජාතික වරාය සැළැස්ම තුළ දිගු කාලීන සැළැසුම්කරණ සීමාවන් ගෙන් ජාතික වරාය අංශයට මග පෙන්වීම සඳහා වූ කාලෝචිත අවශ්‍යතාව සාක්‍ෂාත් කර ගැනීම මෙහි එක් අරමුණකි.

The National Port Master Plan (NPMP) is a technical assistance project financed by the Asian Development bank (ADB) through the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction.

The Asian Development Bank assisted national port master plan was explained to industry stakeholders today in Colombo. At the meeting, the Honourable Minister of Parts & Shipping and Southern Development Sagala Ratnayaka stressed the need for examining reasons for delays in decision-making at the Sri Lanka Ports Authority in the past few years and the importance of fast-tracking the process.

ඒ.පී මේලර් – මර්ස්ක් ( Maersk ) ජාත්‍යන්තර නෞකා ජාලයේ විශේෂ නියෝජිත පිරිසක් පසුගිය දා (2019.02.27) ශ‍්‍රී ලංකා වරාය අධිකාරියේ සංචාරයක නිරත වූහ. එහි ප‍්‍රධාන විධායක නිලධාරී – සොරේන් ස්කොඖ ( Soren Skou ) මහතාගේ ප‍්‍රධානත්වයෙන් යුත් වූ මෙම විදේශ නියෝජිත පිරිස ශ‍්‍රී ලංකා වරාය අධිකාරියේ කළමණාකාර අධ්‍යක්‍ෂ කපිතාන් අතුල හේවාවිතාරණ මහතා සමග විශේෂ සාකච්ඡුාවක නිරත වූහ.

A special foreign delegation headed by Mr.Soren Skou – Chief Executive Officer, A.P. Moller – Maersk recently visited Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA). The delegation had special discussions with the Managing Director of SLPA Capt. Athula Hewavitharana.

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ කාර්යබහුලම වරාය වන කොළඹ වරාය නව තොරතුරු තාක්ෂණය භාවිතා කරමින් ස්වයංක්‍රීය පද්ධතිවලින් ක්‍රියාත්මක, සුහුරු වරායක් (Smart port) බවට පත් කිරීමට අවශ්‍ය කටයුතු සිදු කරමින් පවතින බව වරාය හා නාවික කටයුතු සහ දක්ෂිණ සංවර්ධන ගරු අමාත්‍ය සාගල රත්නායක මැතිතුමා අද දින (25) පැවසීය.
