No One in Colombo Port Infected with Covid-19: PCR & Antibody Tests Confirmed

One of the main steps to eradicate the Covid-19 pandemic is to take randomly selected social groups for PCR and antibody tests, epidemiologists and virologists have been asserted.

Officials of the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health randomly selected 251 employees of the Sri Lanka Ports of Authority and the Colombo Port as well as the users of Colombo Port for PCR and antibody tests yesterday, June 2, 2020. It was confirmed that none of them had been infected with the Covid-19 virus.

Meanwhile, over 150 Sri Lanka Navy personnel attached to facilitate the ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security) and other security services at the Colombo Port were also subjected to PCR and antibody tests. Results of the tests have confirmed that no one had been infected with the virus.
