SLPA Begins Booster Dose Roll-Out Against COVID-19

Inoculating of the third dose ( booster) against COVID-19 commenced on Monday ( 22nd November) by the Covid-19 Preventive Action Committee ( CPAC), a collaborative initiative established to control COVID-19 from Ports and Supply chains in Sri Lanka. All employees of Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), employees of all container terminals, as well as the port users, are to be administered the booster dose of vaccine accordingly.

On the instructions of the Minister of Ports and Shipping, Hon. Rohitha Abeygunawardena, this vaccination programme is planned to be implemented for twelve days under the direction of Captain Nihal Keppotipola, Chairman of the SLPA and the supervision of Director Human Resources Nalin Aponso and Acting Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sanduni Liyanage as well as Port Health Office.

The Minister of Ports and Shipping, the Chairman of the SLPA and other officials in the management recently inspected the vaccination centres at the Port of Colombo to monitor the progress of the programme.
