Navy Commander Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva paid a special courtesy call on newly appointed Chairman of Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) General ( Retd.) Daya Ratnayake on 06th January morning at SLPA Chairman’s office.
The Navy Commander extending his and the organization’s best wishes on General (retd) Daya Ratnayake’s new appointment expressed the hope that existing cordial relations between both organizations would continue to prosper during his tenure in the office.
During the meeting, discussions were made between the SLPA Chairman and Navy Commander with regard to present development of the maritime sector and particularly on boosting facilitation for passenger cruise vessel operations at the Port of Colombo.
Following the discussions, exchange of mementoes also took place between the Chairman of Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) General Daya Ratnayake and Navy Commander Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva to mark the occasion. Managing Director of SLPA Capt. Athula Hewavitharana was also present at the occasion.
