Trincomalee Port has proudly managed to export the second batch of ilmenite as another milestone in the export of bulk goods which started after thirty years.
Accordingly, Mr Saman Perera who is the resident manager of the Port confirmed that the second portion of the shipment was exported yesterday. “The Sri Lanka Port Authority’s income from the export of this bulk cargo is Rs. 180 million,” he calculated. The bulk carrier departed the Port of Trincomalee yesterday late afternoon.
Meanwhile, General Daya Ratnayake, who is the former chairman of the Sri Lankan Authority and the current Secretary of the Ministry of Investment Promotion, appreciated the “exemplary teamwork and dedication of SLPA employees working at the Trincomalee Port”
