Enhance International Confidence in Ports – President

His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has said that the Port of Sri Lanka should work to enhance international confidence in port operations and services by providing an efficient service through modern technology. The President made this observation at a discussion on the progress review of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation held at the President’s House today (09) morning.

Participating in this progress review meeting, the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, Dr. Prasantha Jayamanna, made a detailed presentation on the current situation and ongoing development projects of the Port of Colombo and other ports in the country.

Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva; Chief of Staff to the President Mr. Anura Dissanayake; Secretary to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Mr. KDS Ruwanchandra, Major General (Rtd) G. A. Chandrasiri, Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited and a number of officials from relevant institutes were present at the discussion.
