Newly Appointed Deputy Head of Japan Embassy Visits Sri Lanka Ports Authority

On Thursday, 5th September, Mr. Kamoshida Naoaki, the newly appointed Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Japan in Colombo, paid a courtesy visit to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA). During his visit, Mr. Kamoshida met with Mr. Keith D. Bernard, Chairman of the SLPA, to discuss potential areas of cooperation between the two nations.

Following his meeting with the Chairman, Mr. Kamoshida, accompanied by SLPA Director of Marketing and Business Development, Mrs. Zavia Miskin, was given a tour of key facilities at the Port of Colombo. The delegation first visited the Control Tower, where Harbour Master Captain Nirmal Silva provided a detailed briefing on the port’s operations and services. The visit also included a tour of the Jaya Container Terminal (JCT), one of the port’s key operational areas.

The Japanese Embassy was also represented by other senior officials, including Mr. Ohashi Kenji, First Secretary and Head of Economic and Development Cooperation, and Mr. Yamamoto Yasuhito, First Secretary in the Economic and Development Cooperation Section.
