British High Commissioner Pays Courteous Visit to Port of Colombo

His Excellency Andrew Patrick, the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, accompanied by officials from the British High Commission, made a courtesy visit to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) today, 29 August 2024. During their visit, the delegation met with SLPA Chairman Mr. Keith D. Bernard to discuss ongoing development projects and explore potential opportunities for UK-based companies to engage in Sri Lanka’s port development initiatives.

Following the discussions, the delegation toured key facilities at Colombo Port. They visited the Pilot Station, where Harbour Master Capt. Nirmal Silva provided a briefing on port operations, and then proceeded to the container terminals, including Colombo East Container Terminal, which showcased the infrastructure and ongoing advancements at the busiest port in South Asia.
